Lina Lindqvist is an artist based in Stockholm, Sweden. She graduated from Umeå University in 2006 with a master’s degree in art and art history and additional painting studies at the art academy. With a long-term interest in architecture she explores different places, spatiality and its relationship with humans - though without depicting them. The depopulated places themselves are what interests her and is constantly recurring in her artistry. Furthermore, she explores the interior of the living space and how people tend to manifest themselves through their homes. Analyzing the secondary market for used furniture in different parts of the country generates both new takes of old still-life aesthetic, as well as being a study of class and over consumption. Born and raised in Västerbotten in northern Sweden, nature has also been a great source of inspiration. Birds, desolate landscapes and forests are themes that often return and grow together with pictures from traveling and the urban environment of Stockholm.
